Online gambling attracts surfers
Over four million Britons are internet gamblers, and 1.4 million people visit some websites every month.

According to BBC news over four million Britons are regular internet gamblers. According to online meauserment firm Nielsen/Net Ratings 1.4 million people, visit the most popular casino every month. A new goverment bill will require gambling websites in the UK to carry out age checks in the future

With more than 16% of all Britons online visiting a gambling site each month, it is evident that for some people visiting gambling sites has become part of their day to day behaviour, and we could well see this trend increasing in the future. Time spent on gambling goes from an average time of 35 minutes to 1 minute very much depending on the type of gambling site.

Mainly men

According to BBC news nearly 70% of online gamblers are men. It`s also mainly men that are surfing on the internet, but more and more women are starting to use the internet, not only while their working, but also in their sparetime.

Gambling sites remain keen to attract new audiences and Nielsen/Net Ratings research found that those who upped their advertising activity online was the ones with the most visitors. With many of the websites based outside the UK it is going to be hard for the goverment to crack down on oline gambling.
